About Zanga

Zanga is built for platforms that need payment state, escrow logic, and payout control to behave like one coherent system.

Based in Lusaka, Zambia, Zanga provides the control layer behind payment collection, held funds, and payout release for African digital platforms. The goal is not to sound like an abstract fintech brand. The goal is to help products move money with cleaner operational logic.

Zanga is the flagship fintech product of BigBill Systems. Zanga handles product, integration, and money-movement control surfaces; BigBill Systems is the parent company behind the broader ecosystem and infrastructure direction.

Why that matters: teams integrating Zanga need to understand who owns the technical platform, who owns the operational controls, and where live payment responsibilities actually sit.

What Zanga is designed to do

  • •Collect with context. Payment intents should carry product references, payer and payee identity, and gateway selection from the start.
  • •Support held-fund flows. Escrow and delayed release should be part of the model, not an afterthought bolted onto support operations.
  • •Return operator evidence. Webhook and platform states should let engineering, finance, and support teams agree on what happened.

Core principles and limitations

  • •Zanga is not a bank. We do not accept deposits or hold traditional banking licenses in our own capacity.
  • •No Interest-Bearing Accounts. Zanga does not provide interest on any held balances or escrowed funds.
  • •Regulated Fund Management. Zanga does not pool funds in unlicensed trust accounts. All funds are managed through regulated partner institutions.
  • •Remittance. Zanga does not act as a remittance operator unless specifically licensed for such operations in a given jurisdiction.

Our mission

To give African platforms a more disciplined way to collect, hold, reconcile, and release value across mobile-money and partner payment flows. Zanga acts as a marketplace facilitator and payment aggregator layer between digital products and carriers such as MTN and Airtel.
